Michalina Musielak, MA

Doctoral student

Michalina Musielak is a PhD candidate at the Center for Research on Social Memory at the University of Warsaw. She is currently conducting a comparative audience study in Poland and Germany as part of Zofia Wóycicka’s NCN grant, ‘Help Delivered to Jews during World War II and Transnational Memory in Making.’ Her research practice focuses on the architecture and memory of the 20th century, which she narrates in documentary forms and artistic projects. Her film ‘Miss Holocaust’ premiered in the Shorts Competition at the 67th Berlinale. Musielak’s academic background includes a Master’s degree in Visual Media Anthropology from the Free University of Berlin, as well as studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw in Miroslaw Balka’s Studio for Spatial Activities. She recently graduated as a Meisterschülerin at the HGB Leipzig with Clemens von Wedemeyer. Her final project was awarded the Meisterschülerinnen Award of the G2 Kunsthalle 2024.
