
Dr Małgorzata Łukianow
Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology of Culture at the University of Łódź
Małgorzata Łukianow is a sociologist specializing in memory studies, sociology of culture, and social change. She currently holds the position of Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology of Culture at the University of Łódź. Her work combines sociological perspectives with historical research. Her research interests focus on collective memory formation in post-migration and post-conflict setting and the impact of displacements and territorial changes on subsequent generations’ memories. Previously, Łukianow held positions at the Polish Academy of Sciences, Chemnitz University of Technology and University of Warsaw. In 2024, she served as a Widzinski Senior Fellow at the University of Michigan. Currently, she is involved in the research regarding Polish intellectual diasporas. Łukianow‘s forthcoming monograph focuses on Polish post-migration territories, further expanding her contributions to the field of memory studies and social change. Her work also extends to Polish-Ukrainian and Polish-German memory, as well as local heritage studies.
