The book discusses the subject of memory of the Eastern Borderlands among the displaced people and their descendants. The author interviewed the successive generations: the people brought up in the Eastern Borderlands, their children, grandchildren, and sometimes great-grandchildren. These conversations were used to analyze the vision of the Eastern Borderlands in the social memory. The author also highlights the specificity of the intergenerational transmission in contemporary Poland, including the activities of the organizations that promote fostering of the Eastern Borderland traditions.
