Paweł Downarowicz is a second-year PhD student at the Doctoral School of Social Sciences, University of Warsaw. In 2023, he earned his MA in sociology with a thesis titled “Between the Russian Imperial Project and Ukrainian Civic Nationalism: The Uses of Representations of the 1990s Miners’ Strikes in the Donbas Region in the Russian-Ukrainian Memory War.” His work was awarded the 2nd-degree Znaniecki Prize by the Polish Sociological Association.
